Yesterday, the classic British actress Anna Massey passed away at the age of 73.
I was surprised to read on IMDB that her role in the Michael Powell horror film Peeping Tom was only her second role as a professional actress. If you watch the movie, she provides the film with an emotional core. Her acting is quite remarkable in it; she ably shows that she can love a man who is hopelessly neurotic and even dangerous. Her performance is very beautiful. I haven’t seen that many other films with her, but I believe I’ll have to. It’s like we were just getting to know her.
She joins a list of classic film stars who have died this year, including Elizabeth Tayloy and Farley Granger.
